I've never had a rabbit before. I've always wanted one, but every time i would encounter one, be it a friend's or at a pet store, they would always be so mean and aggressive. That turned me off. I knew if I were ever to really get one I would have to find one that was sweet and gentle and didn't mind my occasional cuddling.

The past few months I have been on the look out/kinda intense search for a pet, something not cat like at all. I constantly had my eyes on the local humane society's facebook page looking for a dog. I found a few I was interested in, but my husband never really gave me the official 'Okay' to pursue getting one. After deciding a dog wasn't the best for my tiny family I started looking for rabbits on craigslist. On my second or third time looking i spotted an add for an English Angora baby rabbit for sale in Richardson, Texas [only about 2 1/2 hours away].

My mother's boss in Idaho raised Angoras so i was semi-familiar with the temperament of this type of rabbit. Angora's are known for their long thick hair and their sweet and gentle attitude. Perfect for what I was looking for! So, I contacted the lady asked her to hold the baby boy for me till i could make it to the Dallas area and now I have a sweet baby bunny! So cute and fluffy!

When I first got him I had a hard time deciding on a name. Sullivan, Sylvester, George, Peter, all names I like, but nothing really suiting for a fluffy white rabbit. The night I got Brer my pastors and Eric and I were on our way to a creative church conference with the rabbit in the back seat of the van with me. It was freezing and my Pastor's wife, Elizabeth, randomly shivered and proclaimed, 'Well, Brer Rabbit! It sure is cold!' Her being from Arkansas an being the character she is she actually pronounced Brer like burrrrrr. She then popped up and announced that I should name the rabbit Brer! I loved the idea. It kinda fit him since he always looks like he's cold cause he's so fluffy and white AND it will remind me of the awesome time we all had together! So yeah! that's how Brer got his name.. I personally CANNOT pronounce Brer correctly and so I still call him burrr. Hah. You should see the looks people give me when they ask me his name and i say Burrr.. hehe

I was so surprised at how big he was the first time i saw him, i was expecting a fit-in-your-hand little baby bunny, but I got him home and he was nearly the size of my cats, and my cats are huge! You are supposed to groom Angora's daily otherwise the fur they groom from themselves can build up in their digestive system and make them think they are full, therefor they will stop eating all together and die. That's the only downside to the lovely lad, finding the time to brush him and trim him every day. Overall I am very happy i stumbled upon him and things worked out so very well!

Today I walked to the store from my work instead of driving! One gold star for me!
I then forgot to eat dinner... I guess that pretty much cancels out my healthy decisions for today! Oh well, at least im trying!
I can feel a new change coming real soon as the new year brings us summer. I am so very excited to see where it takes me and my Eric. Really, I cannot wait to see where our decisions take us, where our God takes us.

Also, I am super excited to get healthy it's something I've never really done and I cannot wait to experience feeling so great. I mean, I am feeling great now during my journey to health, but I am excited to keep at it and reach my goals!

More specifically this challenge:

In order to keep myself motivated and on task I will be posting each photo each day to this blog and my instagram!

I am excited to start and see how long I actually last [hopefully the whole month ;)]

The main reason Photographing more is one of my resolutions is because I have been inspired by other blogs to try my hand at photography and in order to do that I have to push myself and learn to photography anything and everything no matter how random it may be. I believe that is how I will learn and maybe build myself up to a standard high enough that maybe i could follow it more business-wise and start photographing people for money. That'd be so fantastic, especially since there is no decent photographer within 100 mile of where i live!

It will be on going and used as motivation for me to read as many as possible, hence fulfilling my resolution!

The first book I read this year was the first book in The Game of Thrones Series. I hated it. Couldn't keep myself motivated to finish it it was so bad. So, that was the end of that series.

The next book i just finished today was a book called Fuzzy Nation by John Scalzi. I loved this book! I wasn't expecting much when i started it, but it really grew on me real fast.

This is Amazon.com's description of the book:

"Jack Holloway works alone. Hundreds of miles from ZaraCorp’s headquarters on planet, 178 light-years from the corporation’s headquarters on Earth, Jack is content as an independent contractor. As for his past, that’s not up for discussion.

Then, in the wake of an accidental cliff collapse, Jack discovers a seam of unimaginably valuable jewels, to which he manages to lay legal claim just as ZaraCorp is cancelling their contract with him for his part in causing the collapse. Briefly in the catbird seat, legally speaking, Jack pressures ZaraCorp into recognizing his claim, and cuts them in as partners to help extract the wealth.

But there’s another wrinkle to ZaraCorp’s relationship with the planet Zarathustra. Their entire legal right to exploit the verdant Earth-like planet is based on being able to certify to the authorities on Earth that Zarathustra is home to no sentient species.

Then a small furry biped—trusting, appealing, and ridiculously cute—shows up at Jack’s outback home. Followed by its family. As it dawns on Jack that despite their stature, these are people, he begins to suspect that ZaraCorp’s claim to a planet’s worth of wealth is very flimsy indeed…and that ZaraCorp may stop at nothing to eliminate the “fuzzys” before their existence becomes more widely known."

I know that was a bit much of a descriptions, but anyways, I highly recommend checking it out!

More books will be added as I complete them!

My lunch breaks are boring, I mean real boring. I get 45 minutes of freedom to do with what I choose. I have a fear of eating alone in public so i usually take my car and head to the nearest park to chill and eat some food.

Today was different though. All I had for sustenance was a Visalus shake [so yummy and filling but it only takes like 5 minutes to consume] and I had time to spare so I decided to head over to the local Goodwill. Ninety percent of the time all the things at this particular Goodwill are pretty junky, but every once in a while I can find some real cool stuff. Today was one of those good find days.

All the blazers were $1 each. I bought two. ;]
and all the yellow tags were 50% off. I found a lovely pink Merona sweater which just happened to have a yellow tag! SCORE! Sweater for $1.50, Yahoo!! Plus, I found a set of 2 vintage mugs for .$50 each, which was awesome cause for some reason [even being the coffee/tea drinker I am] I only have like two good sized mugs.

Thrift shops are so awesome. Such a good way to find some nice stuff for pretty dang cheap! If you aren't an avid thrift-er I definitely recommend it!

Peace, Lads!

p.s. Here's a song to get you in the thrifting moood.
Working out sure feels good. I love the tight/ strong feeling your body gets after a good work out!

Taking steps to achieve some of my new years Res. Now I just gotta stay motivated and keep it up!

Such a cliche resolution. Maybe if everyone kept up with their "Staying/Getting fit" goals it would be much less cliche.. Doesn't matter though, this is the first time its ever been on my list, and for a good reason, this Texan culture is not good on the body. All their Home cooking or southern cooking or comfort food (whichever you'd prefer) is not so good on those who have a job that lacks activeness. Woo!

Anyways! I'm glad I have gotten one step closer to reaching my goals!

Goodnight, My lovelies! <3

I mean I came from coffee land, everyone everywhere up there knows pretty much everything about coffee, and EVERYONE drinks it [or tea at least].

Here all people know is 'black coffee' & 'sweet tea', that's all! They're missing out on so much, they don't even know!

When I lived back in my old town [not right beside a coffee shop], I use to crave a good Hazelnut Latte, but would have no where to purchase one at, within like 20 miles, and i did not have the equipment needed to make a decent one. I use to stare at the mile long McDonald's line as I drove to work at 7:30 in the morning contemplating how well a decent REAL coffee shop would do around those parts. I now realize that although everyone was willing to wait in a 15 minute line for coffee, it wasn't even the good kind, it was black, plain and black. They would never be willing to even take the time to step into a nice coffee shop, simply because they don't understand, they do not get how good fancy coffee [lattes, mochas, cappuccinos, americanos, macchiatos] can be. They are to chicken to even try anything new... Psh I doubt they would even like it if they did, them and their uncivilized selves.

I don't know if i will ever get use to it.

hehe, here I sit hugging a peppermint mocha as I type this.. [;

Build my real blog

Photograph more

Go on at least one unbelievable adventure!

Pawn shops around here are mainly composed of junk and guns. Same was the case at this pawn shop. I was scanning the junk just wasting time when this vintage square case caught my eye. I was too curious to resist opening it up and seeing what was inside. It contained three oldschool vintange camera lenses and some other little camera accessories. The sales lady saw me looking at it and told me she'd make me a deal on it. I was quite skeptical, figuring camera accessories were expensive in general and they must have been even more outrageous a price cause the were at a small town pawn shop so i kept on scouting out anything worth any value.. Something kept calling me back to the camera lens bag. Right before we walked out i decided to go ahead and see what her deal was and she just gave it to me for free! I was so excited and grateful, granted the lenses arent worth more then $30 but they are so neat to me and the case alone is super nifty and could be used as a real cool purse..
Anyways, I was completely surprised by the generous gift and thanked the lady heartily. She told me a short story about the previous owner and told me Merry Christmas.

I am constantly surprised by the lack of caring people in this world now-a-days. Its so refreshing ans nice to meet someone who is caring and sweet. +It +gives me hope for people in america.

Until Next Time,
I have come to find out that the drive to and from my home to my work is a lot harder then i thought it would be. It sucks having to get up that extra bit earlier and drive that 20 mins by myself to work at a job which i don't feel appreciated at, a job that i feel taken advantage of at. Therefore, i have been diligently searching for a new closer job. So far i havent had much luck though. I got an interview at a ranch equipment manufacture for graphic design, but after a very successful meeting with a very nice sir, i was informed that I really need to know more variety of Adobe programs [such as Indesign and Illustrator]. Oh well, life goes on and i have been teaching myself the programs i was told i need to know and have been searching and applying for more graphic design type jobs.

One of my dream jobs has always been graphic design [along with more improbable jobs such as archaeologist, fashion designer, magazine editor, and paleontologist{i suck at science, heh}]. I have also always wanted to open up a little cupcake, cake, pizza, shoe, coffee shop venues in England, but that's a whole other story.

Anyways! To cut a long post short, I am determined not to give up on my dream graphic design job and I am excited to see where the new thing I am learning take me! Here is my online portfolio in case you're curious ;] http://zeppelincreations.carbonmade.com/

Until Next Time,
Now, i've heard about using it for cooking, how great it is as a substitute for butter, and even about using it as a facial moisturizer, but never as a hair product. She says that you just leave it in your hair with a shower cap over it for a few hours, if not using heat, and only 30ish minutes, if using heat. Then simply wash your hair two times and the coconut oil is supposed to give your hair a lovely healthy shine and reduce the obivousness of split ends.
Naturally, being the very curious type of person I am I had to try it! I've been trying to grow out my hair and looking for home remedies for split ends and dry hair. I read on and found out where she buys her coconut oil from, a website called Vitacost.
Hooked on this coconut, good smelling, goodness of an idea i went straight to the website after getting all signed up [which is free] i found out that every new customer gets a promo code sent to their email for $10 off their first purchase. I took advantage of this amazing offer and ended up getting my 15 oz. of coconut oil for free! [actually i had to pay shipping but that was way cheap] So worth it!

Soooo, If you want to read more about the magic of coconut oil check this out: How Does She
And if you want to go get you some free coconut oil or anything else healthy related thats $10 or under go here: VitaCost enter your email adress and mine,
[holychikenbatman@yahoo.com] and that will give us both $10 off instantly!

The next few days were the most boring so i will put them into 1 post.
We left California bright and early and made our way to our next resting place in El Paso, Texas. The drive was incredibly boring and dull, besides the few rocky mountains along the way, there was nothing but dead and dirt.
Very deserty.
Very Dull.
We made it to El Paso very later, around midnight, found a hotel and fell asleep.
The next day we woke up, packed up, and started the very long, 11 - 12 hour drive across Texas. It was such a relief when we finally hit familiar area [Dallas Fort Worth]. We were so happy and relieved to almost be home. It was such a lovely trip and such a wonderful experience for us, but we had missed our own bed and our own home and were so ready to finally be home.

What we learned from the trip:
-Out of the many states we drove through Wyoming and Washington were our favorites.
-Kansas, Arizona, and Texas suck to drive through.
-We have so much more exploring to do before we die.
-Never again will we take a road trip with so much driving and so little rest time.
:]

First thing was first we had to see Gruman's Chinese Theater. We parked at the local Home Depot and started walking. It was only about a 2 mile walk and on the way we got to see all the stars on the sidewalk and all the cool old buildings on the sides of the road.
Very cool.
Very fun.
We got to the theater, took pictures of all the star signatures, hand prints, and foot prints and laughed at all the people dressed up like movie characters on our 2 mile walk back to the car.
Now we hit the beach! A little beach called 'Cherry Beach' in Long Beach, California. We then headed to our hotel got some delicious real Mexican food form Alberto's and fell asleep for the night.
We had never been to California so this was all such a great experience for us and we cant wait to take more time to do it again!

After ours goals [and sweet tooths] and been taken care of we set out for Los Angeles! Unfortunately we could not make it in a single day so we ended up stopping for the night in Sacramento, but on the way we found a little secluded beach, which we played at for a while, and a few hours worth of windy mountain roads. When we reached Sacramento we got some pizza and went to bed.
